PLANNING
AN OUTDOOR CEREMONY
-
TIMING
OF YOUR OUTDOOR CEREMONY
Ceremonies on West Grounds and East Grounds must be timed at least
one hour apart. You will need to know your ceremony time when you
sign your contract at Wellers. We will check our ceremony calendar
to make sure that your ceremony time does not conflict with other
ceremonies that may be scheduled the same day.
- CEREMONY
REHEARSALS
You may rehearse on Thursdays. We do not charge nor schedule rehearsals.

OUTDOOR
GARDEN CEREMONIES AND WEATHER
Please note on your invitations that your ceremony will be performed
outdoors so guests will dress appropriately. There
is no chapel at Wellers
RAIN
PLANS:
1. If you have rented the Carriage House, your ceremony
may be moved into the gazebo. If Wellers is given a 24-hour
notice, chairs may be set up to create an aisle. However,
if you make a last minute "rain-decision" it
is moved into the gazebo and guests stand for the ceremony.
2. If you have rented the Raisin River Room or Henry Ford
Room, with a 24-hour notice, we can set up, in the room
itself, 4 rowsof 4 chairs each for family (32 guests)..
This creates a wedding aisle. We also have
floor candlelabras that may be rented for indoor ceremonies.
If
it is a last minute, day-of, "rain" call, we
simply move tables slightly to create a space in the center
of the room for the bride, groom and officiant and guests
sit at their tables.

MUSIC
FOR OUTDOOR CEREMONIES
There are electrical outlets on the back posts of the garden
structures for musicians. Please let musicians
and DJs know that they must bring their own extension cords
& dollies. Check with your DJ before you book them to see
if they provide music for ceremonies. Delivery vehicles may
not drive on the grounds. A 10X10 Tent may be rented for musicians.
-
MICROPHONE/PODIUM
RENTAL
Podium/microphone rental ($100) includes podium, audio panel/speaker
and one hand-held microphone. If you need lapel microphones
you must rent from a rental company. There are three jacks for
microphones on the audio control box located on the back of
the lectern. Your minister/rabbi must get the microphone from
the Banquet Manager upon arrival and turn it back in when the
ceremony is completed to avoid possible charges.
